Wild 3D Tech Demo

Alternativa is, according to its site, “a platform for creating, implementing and supporting multi-user browser media over the Internet.”

All most people will be caring about, however, is its unbelievable online 3D engine.

Check out the 2 tech demos available from their site.  Both load very fast and are quite impressive.  They are:

Bunker

Temple

Graphically, it reminds me of what Half Life one looked like back in the mid-90’s.  Obviously, gamers could get exicted about this because it pushes the level of what’s possible inside the browser.  And, although it’s not out yet, it reminds me of what they are trying to accomplish with Quake Live, and to a lesser extent, the Rasterwerks tech demo from a couple of years ago.
