Blog Spotlight - Pulp Sunday | Mumbo Jumbo Daily!

Okay folks, I’d like to take a moment and start a new feature here on Mumbo Jumbo Daily. I’m calling it the “Blog Spotlight,” and in case the name isn’t a dead giveaway, it aims to highlight a blog I am particularly enjoying at the moment and one that I hope my readers will enjoy as well! It’s not going to be a regular feature in the sense that there is no definitive time schedule for this; I’m basically going to post these when I feel like it. Regardless, I hope you enjoy these blogs, too!

To start things off, I’d like to introduce you to Pulp Sunday!

Every Sunday Francesco Francavilla helps us relive the golden age of radio with his excellent posts summarizing a classic Pulp radio broadcast, usually from the 1930’s. Each post features beautiful artwork (an example of which you can see above, featuring The Shadow *cue dramatic music* ) that he creates to illustrate the accompanying weekly broadcast, which is usually freely available from Archive.org.

The blog itself is really more than the sum of it’s parts. It’s a whole experience and a great way to lie back and enjoy some classic entertainment from the past, especially on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Be sure to throw his blog into your RSS reader and get in on some of the retro action!
