Big Buck Bunny from Blender Foundation on Vimeo.
This short film is part of a growing movement in Open Cinema. It was made by a small team of artists using only free open-source software, like Blender, who worked for a year to create this 8 minute piece. It’s colorful, funny, and highly creative. The last 3D open movie was “Elephants Dream,” and while successful and technically stunning, I have to admit that it didn’t make much sense to me. In fact, it was downright strange. Big Buck Bunny, however, is a fun little piece and is sure to please. You can watch the video above (naturally), or download a copy from their page, which includes a variety of formats, including HD stuff and torrent links.
Don’t forget to support projects like these! You can do that by purchasing a DVD!
