Famed graffiti artist Banksy, whose real life identity is something of a preciously guarded secret, might have been ousted yesterday. The iconic and oft-imitated artist’s real identity is that of one Robin Gunningham, after a lengthy investigation by the Daily Mail.
Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for him? Many artists don’t receive recognition until after they are dead. Granted, he may now be facing a bunch of vandalism charges, but it’s nothing a few art shows can’t pay off, judging by some of his more recent hauls.
