I was recently impressed by Grant Barnhart’s current gallery of new works that he’s produced. The works are heavily influenced by the concepts of the information age and the proliferation of the military industrial complex, or how both those things affect everyday people’s lives. The works are mixed medium and contain six works in the series. In speaking about his series, Barnhart says,
“As an artist it is not uncommon to share an idea with another peer and receive the response “hasn’t that been done before”. The 21st century appears to be more about elaborating on previous concepts and subject matter, than about breaking new ground. In a mere fifty years the proliferation of artists, collectors, and galleries has grown exponentially into a global industry. The six works in my new series were not conceived under any illusion of being innovative or original within a historical canon, instead they represent and attempt to address the conundrum of creating art in a global community that has access to infinite visual information.”
I really like the colors and the variety of techniques and themes repeatedly he uses. I hope you enjoy the gallery! Leave some love below!
