Day 28
My Thoughts:
I’m fasting starting tonight until Friday morning. This is the final stage burning in this 30 day rocket to fitness! Let’s blast off!
2 Days Left
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned the supplements I take and have found useful in my life in general and in working out in specific. All these are natural and can be bought at a health store or in a grocery store.
How about a list:
Fish Oil
Vitamin B
Apple Cider Vinegar
Zinc
I take fish oil for several reasons. Not only does it help balance mood, but it is packed with brain and muscle-healthy Omega 3 fatty acids. In fact, the benefits of Omega-3’s just keep coming; it’s practically a miracle pill.
Vitamin B is something I’ve found to be very beneficial with mood and energy. Before I took it, I could just drag and be miserable on some days. This helps combat that very effectively.
Apple Cider Vinegar is useful with helping your body process glucose. It helps make sure your blood sugar doesn’t spike, and in turn reduces your sugar cravings because you’re not on that roller-coaster of sugar highs and lows. My particular brand also contains green Tea and chromium, two very useful dietary supplements. Green tea, as we’ve covered, helps burn fat, and chromium helps with muscle repair and increases lean muscle mass.
Zinc. I picked up this tip on a bodybuilding forum when I wasn’t even looking for it. I was having trouble with breakouts about half-way through the challenge, what with the excess sweat and activity. I read that 30 mg of Zinc helps clear the skin right up. I found 25 mg at the grocery store, started taking it in the morning, and my skin really cleared up quickly. I haven’t had a breakout since!
So that’s my pill regiment. It’s not hard and the benefits you gain are tremendous. It’s kind of like maintaining the best nutrition possible, giving your body the best tools it can have. Keep in mind, this is just my personal list. You might have different needs, and to help sort that out, Men’s Health has a great interactive supplement guide. Check it out!
The Workout:
Have fun with this one…
Closing Thoughts:
Man oh man. I was just reflecting back on yesterday’s workout, which required 30 weighted pullups. Now, I admit I modified the workout to just plain pullups. I have a pullup bar at home, but I’ve never really used it. I didn’t think I could do 30 regular pullups, let alone wearing a backpack full of weights, but you know what? I was able to do 30 pullups successfully. It was a great feeling, and I’m so glad I’ve been working on this challenge. Have you been following along? Any similar tales of personal success?
Maybe you haven’t been working out and know you should? What better time to start than now? No more excuses! Use this 30 Day Challenge as a guide. You’ll hurt, you’ll grow, you’ll push yourself and most importantly you’ll be surprised at what you can do in 30 days, if you stick with this. (Not to mention, it’s much cheaper than a personal trainer!) It’s never too late to share your success story! Share your before and after photos, or simply leave a comment about your success. I’d love to hear from you!
