Day 16
My Thoughts:
Hope everyone is well rested. Pushing the limits again, it’s going to be another 300!
14 Days Left
14 days - that’s 2 weeks left. I hope everyone appreciates this because it’s 2 in the morning after a shift I just pulled at the coffee house and I have to go in again to work in the morning. Ha! No, actually, I’m supremely grateful because writing about this has been a great way for me to be accountable and actually stick with the program.
Pre-Workout Stats:
Just weighed myself before starting and I clocked in at around 173 pounds! Progress! I started at over 178, pushing 179, so this is great for me. My goal for the 30 days was 10 pounds total, and now, as I’m halfway through the entire workout, I’m halfway to my weight loss goal and it’s starting to show. In fact, I’ve pretty much decided I’m going to get into the best shape of my life this summer by working out all the way through August in a fashion similar to this. I might have to dedicate a separate page to chronicle it because this feature might be starting to take up too much space on the main page, but we’ll see how it goes. Regardless, this is solid progress and the resources are all online, immediately available to anyone who seeks them, who is willing to put in the time, for free.
The Workout:
Let’s do this!
I’m not running today, not because I don’t want to but because it’s so late in my house and I don’t want to wake anyone up! Besides, I am coming off a shift where I am very active and have to do a lot of janitorial type work to close the store at the end of the night. Don’t worry, I’ll make up for it tomorrow (and you’ll see what I mean then!)
Note: this 300 requires a resistance training band. You can get these pretty cheap at any fitness store, and they are very effective because it provides a constant counter force against your muscle, instead of simply the weight provided by traditional dumbbells or stationary machines. This means you can’t cheat by using momentum. You get that constant strain against the muscle, and a really good toning result. I don’t have a resistance band myself, but I’m fortunate to have a bowflex, which works in much the same way. I’m modifying these moves to work with my particular bowflex, but if that’s not an option for you, pick up a band. Like I said before, they are pretty cheap and will help deliver great results.
Cool down again with some Yoga.
Closing Thoughts:
Today marks the halfway point for the 30 Day Workout Challenge. If you’re just joining us, go back and look at some of the other workouts in the beginning of the archive. There are some great workouts and great bits of information in there. I can honestl say that I’m pleased at the progress I’ve made thus far, and I hope you’ve been able to improve right along with me. If you are following along, post a comment, a piece of encouragement for the others out there who may be working to improve their lives as well. There are 2 weeks left and this is a good opportunity for eveyrone to commit to redoubling their efforts in coming down this final home stretch. Consistent exercise, constant challenge, and healthy diets will lead to healthy bodies and sharp minds.
I remember back on day one when I did the first 300 and how I was painfully sore for two days after. Now, I’m recovering in much less time, ready for the next challenge. I hope you are, too! Let’s keep it up!
